Arsenal defender William Saliba is reportedly ready to ask to leave the club should he not be guaranteed a starting spot under Mikel Arteta.
The French defender has spent the last three seasons out on loan from the club and has gained plenty experience while developing his game.
For the 2021-22 campaign, Saliba was at Marseille on loan and he proved himself to be one of the better defenders in the whole Ligue 1 with his performances.

The 21-year-old believes he has done enough to be a regular in Arteta’s Arsenal squad and if he is not given guarantees over his playing time he will ask to leave, according to the Independant.
Saliba’s urgency reportedly stems from being told that he could be in with a shot of making the French national squad for the Qatar World Cup in November, but only if he is playing regularly.
The defender is currently on Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the United States and will be looking to prove his worth to Arteta.

The Spanish manager is keen to see Saliba in action during preparations for the new Premier League season and judge if he has overcome previous reservations about the defender.
Saliba has already suggested that he will not sign a new contract with the Gunners if he does not start getting consistent game-time.
He is very highly rated and will have every chance to prove himself but if he does not succeed at Arsenal, he will have alternative options.

The report claims that both Atletico Madrid and Marseille would be keen on signing the defender.
The French club know Saliba well from last season as he made himself a cornerstone of the team’s defensive line.
He made 52 appearances for Marseille in all competitions, in which the defender helped the club keep 20 clean sheets.
