Day 2 of the Qatar World Cup 2022 round of 16 started with France vs. Poland, with Poland looking to keep their hopes alive at the World Cup. Superb goals from Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe ensured that France moved to the next stages of the competition. The only goal from Poland during the game was a penalty that Robert Lewandowski took. He had missed the penalty at first before retaking it after a check showed that Hugo Lloris moved out of his line.

England vs. Senegal also favored one side, with Senegal taking a beating from the Three Lions. The Senegalese side did not stand a chance as early goals from Henderson ensured that England took the upper hand against their opponents. Harry Kane and Saka also scored from assists from Phil Foden. With their fine display against Senegal, England will face France in a heated match at the next stage of the world cup.

France faced Poland as both teams struggled to move to the Qatar World Cup 2022 quarter-finals. Even before the game started, Poland knew that France had more quality than them, as Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele controlled France’s wing for the match.

The match started with Poland getting some control of the game and even getting some chances to score, which they failed to convert. However, AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud was the man who had started off the scoring when he stuck one into Poland’s net just before halftime. The goal from Olivier Giroud made him the highest goal scorer for France, moving past Thierry Henry, who previously held the record at 51 goals.

Mbappe scored the second and third goals for France before Robert Lewandowski scored a consolation penalty goal for the Polish side. France will be facing England in the quarter-finals after England won Senegal.
