Crystal Palace are monitoring Conor Gallagher’s Chelsea involvement as they remain hopeful of re-signing him on loan.
Gallagher was one of the stars of Palace’s season last year, thriving under Patrick Vieira, making 39 appearances, scoring eight times and setting up five more goals.
His displays earned him a breakthrough into Gareth Southgate‘s England squad and he was also named Palace’s Player of the Season.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira coached Gallagher when he was on loan at the club last season
All-action midfielder Gallagher has returned to Chelsea for this season after a conversation with manager Thomas Tuchel in which he told him he feels he is ready to play for the club.
Gallagher featured heavily for Chelsea in pre-season and came off the bench late against Everton to make his competitive Blues debut, with Tuchel handing him minutes in the closing stages ahead of more senior options.
While that is an indication of how prominent the 22-year-old is in Tuchel’s thinking, Palace are watching knowing they could offer Gallagher regular first-team starts ahead of the World Cup later this year.

Chelsea are interested in signing long-term Manchester United target Frankie de Jong
Gallagher, who has won four senior caps, was in the last Three Lions squad for the quartet of Nations League fixtures at the end of last season.
Chelsea started with N’Golo Kante and match-winner Jorginho in central midfield in their season-opening 1-0 win at Everton, had Mateo Kovacic on the bench and are also interested in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who would provide an additional obstacle to first-team football were Chelsea to strike a deal for the Dutchman and persuade him to leave the LaLiga side.
Gallagher, meanwhile, would not be short of options along with Palace were he to be made available for another loan spell by Chelsea.
