Aaron Ramsey has completed a move to Nice on a free transfer, with the French club also hoping to seal a deal for Kasper Schmeichel.
The Wales midfielder had been without a club after settling the final year of his contract with Juventus last month.
After Sportsmail exclusively revealed Nice’s interest in the player last week, the Ligue 1 side have now confirmed the signing of the 31-year-old former Arsenal midfielder, who is a key member of the Wales squad that qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1958.

They have also been in talks with Leicester to sign Schmeichel, who is set to leave after 11 successful seasons.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers said: ‘We’re hoping that one way or another we can get a solution this week.
‘He deserves the respect for his time here and everything he’s given the club. There’s obviously interest from another club but it’s not finalised or been dealt with.

‘For any player of that age the longevity is important in the contract that you might get.
‘When you are 35 and you can get a three-year contract, for example, then that will play a part in a player’s thinking.’
Meanwhile, Ramsey’s priority is regular football ahead of the tournament in Qatar, which starts in November — and sees Wales take on England in the group stage.
